Alexander at Massachusetts Ave.

Is the Chase Tower the tallest skyscraper in Indy?

Last Sunday, my friends and I went to attend mass at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, which is located at 126 W Georgia St. - across the Indiana Convention Centre. It was a memorable mass as the choir sang Gregorian chants in celebration of the church's anniversary. The voices, the melodies, the harmonies, the mysteries behind the Latin lyrics and most important, the intention behind those chants made it a genuine spiritual experience. It was very calming both to the ears and soul. At some point, while the choir sang Ave Maria, I closed my eyes and visualised myself in a monastery somewhere in Southern Italy or Greece. It was a place high enough to see the ocean and mountains, far away from the hustle and bustle of any city. It was a place where inner peace can be found.

Two hours earlier, I was feeling a bit experimental in terms of my #ootd. I didn't have anything decent to wear because my button down shirts were in the laundry bag. Also, a t-shirt under a blazer wasn't an option, because the weather app told me that it was going to be a hot day. It might've snowed until April this year, but summer is summer in Indianapolis. It can be hot, humid and oh, not to mention, unpredictable. (Expect me to complain about the weather in Indianapolis in the future).

It took me five minutes to remember my fascination for black cassocks and capes worn by Roman Catholic priests. Très chic. I wanted to wear black from head to toe, but I didn't want to look as if I'm mourning. In the end, I wore an oversized t-shirt with an interesting print over a black short sleeve button down, and paired with a black skater shorts and black shoes. As a result, I got a weird look from my friend.

Look at Alexander's bum.

After the mass, we went to Massachusetts Avenue a.k.a. "Mass Ave". The area is filled with local stores, boutiques, restaurants, bars, pubs and apartments. This place has the potential to become Indy's fashion district, but to be completely honest it might take some time before we see some ateliers around the area. It is one of my favourite places here in Indy because it is usually quiet and empty in the morning and afternoon. I wish there were more outdoor cafeterias though.
